Bass Fishing – Catch more Bass

Bass Fishing – Catch More Bass

Bass fishing has come a long way over the years and now it is one of the most popular type of fish that people want to catch.  That being said, it is usually one of the easiest fish to catch, because there are so many of them in the waters.

There are six different techniques that people can use when the bass do not seem to be cooperating and won’t take the bait.

  1. Pitching

When a person is pitching, they let out fishing line and then keep their reel open.  As they lower the rod into the water, they will want to grab the lure with their free hand and pull on the line.  Once the tension has been added, they need to swing the lure where they believe the fish are located and if it is done correctly, the bass should grab the lure quickly.

  1. Flipping

Flipping is a little more difficult than pitching, but a person can be more precise when aiming their rod at the fish.  Flipping will take between eight and fifteen feet of line being let out, before a person can close the reel.  They will then need to grab the line and extend their arm to the side, pulling on the line.  As soon as the rod is raised, the bait will swing towards the person and they can swing it in the other direction towards the fish.

  1. Topwater

A person can use topwater bait in an area where the bass are very active.  This bait stays on top of the water and people can see the fish as they are grabbing the bait and being hooked on the line.

  1. Crankbaits

A crankbait is basically a teasing lure that grabs the bass’ attention.  The more curious the bass the easier it is to catch them with this technique.

  1. Spinnerbaits

The best way to use spinnerbait is to let it fall to the bottom and then crank it up a little bit and let it fall again.  This repetitive motion will intrigue the bass, allowing a person to catch them.  However, it can be slightly tricky to hook a fish with this type of lure due to its design.

  1. Jerk Bait

Everyone knows that bass love to catch anything to eat that doesn’t seem to be really healthy.  They think of it as an easy meal that they do not have to work for.  That’s why jerk baiting can be the way to fish and catch the perfect bass in clear waters.  A person only has to jerk the tip of their rod to make it easy for the bass to see the bait.

Some of the best lures are mentioned above, but there are a couple more that are worth mentioning as well.  Rubber worms can easily fool a bass into thinking that it is a real worm and since they are available in multiple sizes, styles, and colors, a person can choose the best one for all types of fishing conditions.  Jigs are used for flipping and pitching techniques, because they allow a person to aim them with accuracy and they enter the water quietly.

Bass fishing is a popular sport and these tips should help everyone hook their first bass if they have not already.  If a person has caught a bass in the past, but has been struggling to catch more recently, then they will want to try one of these methods to see if they can find success once again.
